Robert Gitelman Biography
In the last few years, Robert Gitelman has released several tracks including ‘Fluidium’, ‘Milestone’, Just Be Rough’, ‘Baja Tribe’, ‘Candles’ and ‘The Magic’ which all received massive support from biggest DJ’s in the world, including prime time on Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance show. Robert himself though does not see this as his biggest motivator. “The best thing that happened in my career,” he explains, “is the support I get from all my fans all over the world. I like to hear the reviews about the tracks that I release and about the radio show I record every week. I always welcome new tracks sent to me by fresh DJ’s, a lot of these tracks me me start my day happier. Add to that all the support I’m getting on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and so on, make me want to do more great music. The next track is always on my mind.”
Robert Gitelman started his career at the tender age of 14 and by the time he was 17 he already scored a residency in one of the biggest clubs in Israel. This opened various international doors to this teenager and Robert soon manned the decks in every hot club in Israel. Radio 99FM picked him up for a weekly club show in which he welcomed some of the biggest names in the world, including Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, Benjamin Bates, M.I.K.E (Push), Armin van Buuren, Scot Project, Wag, Erick Morello, DJ Asrid, Phats and Small, Dimitri, Christian Froot, Taucher, Misja Helsloot, Montana, Talla and many, many more! This success led to another, when Robert was asked by Israel's biggest label Phonokol to compile his very own club-trance compilation CD which resulted in the Club99 series. This success led to a second series of compilation CD’s titled Party Line.
All this exposure resulted in more and more bookings around the world, including some of the most exclusive venues in Ibiza, the UK and Cyprus. He became a frequent guest in the legendary Dutch dance clubs iT, Escape, Danssalon and the Master Theatre, all solidifying his international reputation.
With more and more experience spinning behind the wheels of steel, Robert decided to take on the next challenge and produce his own music. His first released track, ‘Going Up’ by DJ Robert & The Party Freaks, was distributed by Rhythm Import in 1996. The track had a very experimental underground feeling to it. Together with his recent producing partner, Jaron Martinez, Robert produced the ‘Dreaming about Paprika’ which was rocked almost every chart and was featured on the Love Parade compilation CD. Proving its timelessness, it has also been re-released recently.
Jaron and Robert are producing under several guises including G&M Project, 2 Players, Robert Gitelman, Jaron inc, Taze and DJ Robert & The Martinez Bros.
As G&M Project they achieved a major success in the Netherlands with the classic track ‘Feeling the Sunrise’. The track got support from every major DJ in the world including Ferry Corsten, Marco V, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules, DJ Stigma, Push, Scot Bond and Blank & Jones. It was featured on countless compilation CD’s including Trance Energy 2002, Ferry Corsten World Tour: Tokyo, DJ Jean’s Madhouse 2002, ID&T Trance vol. 3, Gatecrasher Experience, International DJ’s at Goliath mixed by DJ Stigma, DJ Marckey in the Mix, Sensation 2003 and 2004 and many more!
This track was followed by a second smash ‘Signet’ by 2 Players. The trick was immediately picked up by the German Afterglow Records label and received a Plastic Angel remix. ‘Signet’ took the top spot in the German selling charts was also picked up by Hooj Choons in the UK.
